ABOUT GOOD WORD
Some of My Story
As a meticulous proofreader, it's my job to help you turn in the cleanest transcripts possible.
As a person who loves both the written and spoken word, it's my pleasure!
In fact, I spent countless hours reading as a child and then dedicated four years to studying for my BA in English Literature. Well, let me be honest: most of the "studying" was reading and writing.
And once I had that ubiquitous English degree, I spent a lot of time trying to find work, which in turn led to a wide variety of jobs in interesting places: a hospital medical records department, an association for the mentally disabled, a jewelry store, a car dealership, and a credit card bank to name a few.
My experience became a mix of organizing, auditing, customer service, proofreading, and project management. I developed a strong interest in horticulture and earned two Certificates of Merit in Ornamental Plants from Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. If you're ever in the area, do make sure to visit! It's a great place.
Along the way, I got married and had a child. That family became my focus for many years, and my son is now grown and soon to be leaving home. I prepared for that moment by completing a course called Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice. I earned a Certificate of Excellence and entered my current passion and proofreading business.
